Svalbard Unplugged is a story of two friends, snowboarders and professional athletes exploring the northern islands of Svalbard. Their mission is to find the perfect mountain face to fulfil their freeriding dreams on. With no connection to the outside world they are free of the modern digital world and all the excessive noise, just to concentrate on experimenting the arctic nature and the feeling of freeriding - feeling of freedom. The short film takes the viewer deep into the wilderness of the Arctic where polar bears are common but people rare. The film also opens up the mindset of our heroes, what drives them from one challenge to the other, and from the international podiums to the nature. It’s a story about motivation and dreams, but also the uncertainty that plays an inevitable role in expeditions like this. “Working with Arctic Guides has been one of the biggest reasons why I’ve come to love the Arctic so much. What Anders and his crew has shown to me has really opened my eyes. The most important thing though is that Arctic Guides understands the requirements that can be easily undercooked in film projects such as the ones I do. Safety is always number one and being able to change the plan to a better solution is one off the best things that a company can offer. And that is something Arctic Guides does so well!”

— Antti Autti, Pro Snowboarder

Professional snowboarder Antti Autti is dependent on snowboarding. For Antti it is a passion, but for his closest ones it is an obsession. He has been chasing snow and mountains at the expense of everything else. But when does absolute dedication for one thing start to take a toll on other important things in life? To figure this out, Antti decides to spend the whole season closer to home in Lapland and see if he can discover balance in life. Arctic Lights movie follows Autti´s season in the mountains and fells of the North and ponders if it is possible for a professional athlete to find balance between career and home.
